KALAMAZOO, Mich. — For 20 years, Kalamazoo Public Schools students have had the expense of going to college lifted, all thanks to the Kalamazoo Promise Scholarship.
The scholarship covers 100% of tuition and fee expenses in most Michigan post-secondary schools for students who attend schools in the city from kindergarten through high school.
With the anniversary of its announcement in November 2005, leaders are celebrating the first-of-its kind idea, and the generational impact it’s made all over the nation.
