KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) — The former Comstock Township deputy fire chief who pleaded to driving drunk in a crash that left an 11-year-old girl seriously injured has been sentenced to probation, according to the Kalamazoo County Prosecutor’s Office.
Michael David Dyer was sentenced to 18 months probation, the office confirmed. He previously entered an agreement with the Kalamazoo County court in September, where he pleaded no contest to one count of operating while intoxicated.

Dyer was not set to serve any prison time and was required to pay restitution in addition to his probationary terms, previous court docs show. He was fired in September by the Comstock Township Board.
