PORTAGE, Mich. — Twelve Baskets Food Pantry in Portage has seen a significant increase in people who need food assistance since SNAP benefits were taken away as a result of the government shutdown.
Executive Director Kathleen Fett told News Channel 3 they have seen an increase of nearly 50% in the past few weeks.
