Comstock Township Planning Commission votes to recommend approval of BESS ordinance

COMSTOCK TOWNSHIP, Mich. — After hours of debate, weeks of public hearings, and months of plan reviews, the Comstock Township Planning Commission voted unanimously Thursday night to recommend the approval of an amended ordinance allowing a battery energy storage system (BESS) to be built within the township.

The decision is not final. The township board will now take up the recommendation and make the ultimate call.
