GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (ABC 4) – The Kalamazoo Farmers Market recently got a new addition added thanks to the folks at Owen-Ames-Kimball. The Don Cooney Cultivation Center is a place to host youth and family events, named after retired Kalamazoo City Commissioner. The new center will also host the indoor Kalamazoo Winter Markets and serve as the primary Kzoo Parks afterschool site during the school year. It will also be available for private event rentals.
Don Cooney said, “This is for the people and it’s a wonderful building in a neighborhood that really deserves it and I’m just thrilled to be a part of it. It’s just a blessing to be a part of it and I love the people in this community and I’m glad I had a chance to work for them.”
Tom Stanek, Director of Kalamazoo Operations at Owen-Ames-Kimball, said he was proud to be a part of this project was “just to see the all the community all come together and celebrate something that’s so special with Don and his involvement in the community and everything.”…
