COOPER TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Repairs to the water system have prompted a boil water advisory near Kalamazoo.
The advisory is in effect for a number of city of Kalamazoo water customer addresses in Cooper Township, including along North 14th Street, Cutter’s Ridge, Hunters Crossing, Liverpool Avenue, Rapids Way Street, St. Luke Avenue, West D Avenue, West E Avenue and Wild Flower Path.
Everyone in the affected area should boil their water for two minutes before consuming it. It’s safe to bathe in the water without boiling it.
The city of Kalamazoo said the infrastructure repairs caused a loss of pressure, which can allow bacteria to enter the system. The boil water advisory is precautionary; no bacteria had been found in the system as of Wednesday…
