Kalamazoo Resident Wins $3 Million Mega Millions Prize with Ticket Bought in Portage

Carol Bukant, a 79-year-old resident of Kalamazoo, Michigan, won a $3 million prize in the Mega Millions lottery. She and her husband bought $20 worth of tickets as the jackpot neared $1 billion. They first thought they had won $1 million, but later learned a 3X multiplier increased their prize to $3 million.

Bukant matched the five white balls—01, 08, 11, 12, and 57—in the November 14, 2024, drawing. She purchased the winning ticket at JJ Land LLC in Portage, Michigan.
