A weather alert was issued by the National Weather Service on Sunday at 5:37 a.m. EST for light snow until 11 a.m. EST for Ottawa, Kent, Ionia, Clinton, Allegan, Barry, Eaton, Ingham, Van Buren, Kalamazoo, Calhoun and Jackson counties.
“Light snow has overspread the area this morning. Snow rates are not heavy, but they are enough to cover area roads and cause slick conditions and reduced visibilities. Drivers should allow for extra time to reach their destination this morning. Speeds should be reduced on the snow covered and slick roads.
