Man arrested after firing shots toward Kalamazoo parking lot

KALAMAZOO TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A 22-year-old from Kalamazoo County has been arrested after allegedly being caught firing shots out of a moving vehicle.

The Kalamazoo Valley Enforcement Team and the Crime Reduction Team were on patrol on Gull Road last Friday when they observed a man fire three shots across multiple lanes of traffic toward the parking lot of the Gull Road Party Store.

KVET says CRT investigators tracked the vehicle, which was heading westbound on Gull Road in the city of Kalamazoo. Officers with the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety helped the CRT investigators conduct a traffic stop on Porter Street near East Frant Street.

Two men in the vehicle were arrested and the gun used in the incident was seized.

KDPS and Kalamazoo Township Police responded to the shooting scene to talk to potential victims and collect evidence. No one was hurt in the shooting…
