Firefighter killed in motorcycle crash remembered for ‘quiet kindness’

KALAMAZOO, MI — Charlie Sullivan recently received a note from a mother whose son had crashed his bicycle on the side of the road.

Sullivan, an Oshtemo Township firefighter, had pulled up on his motorcycle and provided first aid to the boy before he was taken to the hospital to get stitches, Sullivan’s father, Roger Sullivan Jr. said.

Now, the community is mourning Sullivan after he died in a motorcycle crash last month…
