Update: Weather alert announced for dense fog in Southern Michigan until 2 a.m. EST Wednesday

An updated weather alert was issued by the National Weather Service on Wednesday at 12:23 a.m. EST for dense fog until 2:30 a.m. EST for Cass, St. Joseph, Branch and Berrien counties.

“Patchy fog has developed across the area this evening. Visibilities are highly variable, but expect visibilities to drop to one quarter of a mile or less in the denser fog patches. Motorists should be prepared for rapid changes in visibilities across short distances due to the patchy nature of the fog. Patchy dense fog may linger into the early morning hours of Wednesday,” describes the weather service…
