On Thursday at 10:29 a.m. EST the National Weather Service released a winter weather advisory valid for Friday between 5 a.m. EST and 11 a.m. EST for Allegan, Van Buren and Kalamazoo counties.
“Freezing rain expected. Total ice accumulations around a light glaze,” describes the weather service. “A brief period of freezing rain is likely early Friday morning, before turning to rain by noon as temperatures rise above freezing.”
“Very slippery sidewalks, roads and bridges are possible. The hazardous conditions could impact the Friday morning commute,” says the weather service. “Slow down and use caution while traveling. Prepare for possible power outages.”
