Heavy rain and thunderstorms Sunday ahead of flash freeze, whipping wind and snow Monday

KALAMAZOO, Mich. — After what has already been a soggy Sunday, more rain and storms were expected to continue into the evening.

Daily rainfall records were already crushed in both Kalamazoo and Battle Creek before 4 p.m., with more periods of rain expected through the evening.

The heavy rain was already creating issues on area roadways. Traditional trouble spots with poor drainage were flooding.
