KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) — City officials say approximately 300 gallons of sewage were spilled Tuesday on the south side of Kalamazoo.
Kalamazoo Department of Public Services was notified shortly after 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday of a sewage coming out of a manhole on Sunnock Avenue west of Lovers Lane. The sewage came out of the manhole, crossed the road and flowed into a storm sewer grate.
City officials did not say what caused the overflow but said normal flow conditions have been restored. The roadway has also been “remediated.”
KDPS has notified the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy and the Kalamazoo County Environmental Health Unit of the spill, as required by law…
