First dog in Van Buren County Pets for Patriots program adopted by local veteran

VAN BUREN COUNTY, Mich. — The first dog of the Pets for Patriots Program in Van Buren County has been adopted.

Lucky, a stray, had arrived at Van Buren County Animal Control with a bullet wound, according to the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office.

He made a speedy recovery, and will now be spending the rest of his doggy days with a local veteran.
