Kalamazoo Storage Center break-ins, thefts prompt security questions amid investigation

KALAMAZOO, Mich. — An active investigation continues into a series of storage unit break-ins at Kalamazoo Storage Center on South Burdick Street, as the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety (KDPS) said it is working to identify victims and determine how the thefts occurred.

KDPS said they had received a number of reports about break-ins at the storage facility over the past month.

The weekend following Christmas, KDPS said a large amount of suspected stolen property was recovered by authorities and is believed to be connected to the reported break-ins.
