BCSO reports only minor incidents resulting from winter storm

Mother Nature provided the Barry County Sheriff’s Office with a busy day on Monday, Dec. 29, as snow and high winds whipped through Barry County and neighboring areas in southwest Michigan.

According to weather reports, less than an inch of snow fell on Monday. But the precipitation was accompanied by temperatures that dipped into the low 20s and wind gusts as high as 35 mph.

BCSO officials reported 23 total inci­dents related to the wintery weather, including 19 accidents. Most of the accidents reportedly occurred after 4 a.m. on Monday…
