GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — The maternity staff at Corewell Health’s Butterworth Hospital didn’t have to wait long to welcome its first baby of the new year.
Bentley Winston Adsit was born at 1:35 a.m. Thursday. He weighed 10 pounds, 8 ounces and is 23 inches long.

Incredibly, Bentley came early. His due date was Jan. 7.
He is the second child for Emily Strang and Christian Adsit. The family says both Bentley and Emily are doing well. They say his middle name is in honor of his maternal grandfather.
