West Michigan housing market shows signs of cooling at start of new year

KALAMAZOO, Mich. — The housing market across West Michigan has slowed from pandemic-era highs, but local realtors say it has not fully shifted in buyers’ favor as 2026 begins.

“It’s complicated,” Charlie Bradford, a realtor with Jaqua Realtors and a board member of the Greater Kalamazoo Association of Realtors, said. “The market has been pretty slow, but it still favors sellers slightly. Inventory remains tight.”
