BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — The Haven of Rest Inasmuch House for women and children is sounding the alarm about scams against seniors.
Family Division Coordinator Lisa Foley told News Channel 3 a 73-year-old woman was giving $500 every month to someone she thought was a trusted financial employee through an online banking app.
“We changed her phone number because he was still contacting her after we had closed the account, and this lady is 73 years old,” Foley said. “Social Security is a struggle to live on anyways without somebody taking advantage.”…
