Kalamazoo mayor, commissioners will get pay raise

KALAMAZOO, MI — Members of the Kalamazoo City Commission will see their annual compensation rise roughly 3% to 3.5% this month.

Because none of the seven members rejected the recommended raises, commissioners effectively accepted the increases during their Monday, Jan. 5 meeting.

Mayor David Anderson will earn $11,700 a year, a $350 increase from the rate adopted in 2024, per city documents. Vice Mayor Drew Duncan will earn $9,900, a $300 increase. Both are roughly 3% increases…
