KALAMAZOO, Mich. — The City of Kalamazoo announced Thursday that they will begin collecting the remaining leaves left behind because of a snowy December.
After crews were forced to shift from leaf collection to snow removal early on that month, officials said leaf collection for those living in Zone C — which includes the Edison, Milwood and Eastside neighborhoods — will resume this week.

“Leaf collection is weather-dependent, and winter maintenance must take priority during winter weather events,” officials said. “Since November 3, crews have already collected more than 11,000 cubic yards of leaves for composting.”…
