Possible grain bin fire prompts evacuation, canceled Amtrak trains near Kalamazoo

VAN BUREN COUNTY, MI – An area of the village of Decatur were evacuated Saturday afternoon due to a potential grain bin fire.

A mandatory evacuation order was put into effect shortly after 2 p.m. on Jan. 10 as crews responded to a potential grain bin fire, Decatur officials said in a news release.

The evacuated area included:

  • E. Delaware Street
  • W. Delaware Street
  • S. Williams Street
  • S. George Street
