The National Weather Service issued a report at 5:28 a.m. EST on Wednesday for snow showers until 7 a.m. EST for Montcalm, Gratiot, Ottawa, Kent, Ionia, Clinton, Allegan, Barry, Eaton, Ingham, Van Buren, Kalamazoo, Calhoun and Jackson counties.
“A strong cold front moving south through the area this morning will change rain showers to snow showers, increase winds, and drop temperatures quickly. These factors will all lead to slick roads developing for all of the area. The Grand Rapids area will see this occur between 6 and 7 am, and the Lansing area will see it occur between 7 and 8 am.
