Cold and snowy pattern continues, with more widespread accumulation on MLK Day

KALAMAZOO, Mich. — January is getting ready to flex its winter muscles here in West Michigan.

Several days of cold and snowy weather are in the forecast, with a more widespread round of accumulation expected for Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Lake effect snow had already been creating some snowy travel during the day Saturday, mainly across portions of Ottawa, Kent and Muskegon counties.
