Burst water pipes cause cancellation of classes for two Comstock schools

COMSTOCK, Mich. — Water pipe bursts at an elementary and a high school are causing classes to be cancelled on Monday.

Comstock Compass High School and Comstock Elementary School, located about four miles from each other, both experienced water pipe bursts on Monday morning and cancelled the remainder of their classes for the day, according to officials from both schools.

The water pipe burst at Comstock Compass High School, the cause for which school officials did not initially disclose, came before 9:30 a.m. and caused the school to be without water so officials announced they cancelled their “PM” schedule classes that take place from 12:15 p.m. to 3:00 p.m…
