A 55-year run isn’t done after all for Portage breakfast spot that was set to close

PORTAGE, MI — Known for its six-egg omelets, breakfast burritos and casserole, Antique Kitchen had been serving up hearty breakfasts and lunches since 1971.

On Sunday, Jan. 25, employees were notified that the restaurant at 6215 S. Westnedge Ave. would close permanently at day’s end, according to multiple sources.

At 8 a.m. Monday, when the restaurant would normally be open, the parking lot sat empty. The lights were off. And as one regular pulled up, surprised to see it closed, he was quick to note the hours were no longer listed on the door…
