KALAMAZOO, Mich. — A stretch of harsh winter weather has pushed many West Michigan school districts closer to the limit on snow days, prompting administrators to closely monitor calendars and plan for what comes next.

While state law allows districts to miss a limited number of instructional days due to weather, repeated closures can have ripple effects for students, families, and staff if districts are forced to make up time later in the school year.
