Man who fled Steuben County after January house fire, charged in Calhoun County for torturing brother’s dog and home invasion

CALHOUN COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – Authorities in Calhoun County have arrested and charged 36-year-old Dylan Hall with first-degree home invasion and animal torture after he allegedly broke into his brother’s residence and shot his dog.

The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office took Hall into custody on January 21, 2026, just one day after he went missing following a suspicious fire at his own home in Steuben County that resulted in the death of his own pet.

Court records indicate that Hall allegedly used a rifle to shoot his brother’s dog, Luna, in the snout, but the weapon malfunctioned, allowing the animal to survive the attack…
