‘Has only gotten worse’: Michigan residents frustrated over weeks-long USPS mail delays

KALAMAZOO, Mich. — Residents across Southwest Michigan are reporting mail delivery delays, with some waiting weeks to receive their letters and packages.

Kalamazoo, Portage, Comstock, Decatur, Battle Creek, Byron Center and Coloma are just a few cities reporting delays

News Channel 3 spoke with a woman from Watervliet, who said her parents in Coloma never received the $1,600 check she sent them weeks ago.

Hundreds of others commented on News Channel 3’s Facebook page, expressing their frustrations:

  • Michaela Boodt: “Explains where our wedding invites are.”
  • Rick Green: “I am still waiting for the IRS forms I need to submit by end of January.”
  • Magan Swain: “Our business goes days without a mail carrier coming to the office. This started about four months ago and has only gotten worse.”
  • Anna Eastin: “We have had so many people tell us they haven’t gotten the monthly bank statements yet or payment summary when payment is due the first and it’s the third and still haven’t gotten anything.”

Others say they’re taking matters into their own hands by going to the post office to pick up their mail themselves…
