Three dogs seized after warrant served in Fredonia Township animal neglect probe

FREDONIA TOWNSHIP, Mich. — The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant in Fredonia Township Tuesday in connection to animal neglect.

At around 2 p.m., Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) Animal Control officers executed a search warrant at a residence on A Drive South near 14 Mile Road in Fredonia Township.

The investigation began Monday when Animal Control officers responded to investigate the death of a dog at the residence.

During the initial investigation, officers observed the living conditions of other animals on the property, leading to a search warrant being obtained and executed, CCSO said in a release.

Three dogs were taken into protective custody. Charges will be sought against the homeowner and dog owners, pending review by the Calhoun County Prosecutor’s Office…
