New Ownership Takes Over Kalamazoo Italian Sub Shop

Angelo’s has been serving the Kalamazoo community Italian delicacies for decades. They have benefitted from their cozy spot in the plaza located in front of the Kalamazoo/Battle Creek International Airport where they attract locals and visitors. Angelo’s was most known for their grinder sandwiches but also made very good salads, pizzas, calzones, and other Italian eats.

Recently, the owners of the restaurant began to think about retirement along with the inflating costs to not only run a business but one in the highly competitive food industry. They had decided that they would be closing up shop soon and many people were preparing to be without Angelo’s.

When you visit a place so often the last thing you want to think about is that place not being open anymore. This has become a common occurrence for residents in the Kalamazoo area as they are seeing some of their favorite places close up shop on a regular basis. Luckily, fans of Angelo’s won’t have to think about last visits because a couple that has always dreamed of owning a restaurant is coming to save the day.

Angelo’s Italian Eatery held a reopening event Saturday to celebrate as Missie and Bryan Adams take over the restaurant that has served up grinders and pizza at 5401 Portage Rd. near I-94 in Kalamazoo for almost two decades.
