County’s first Raising Cane’s hosting grand opening event, customers camping out

PORTAGE, Mich. — The county’s first Raising Cane’s chicken restaurant is officially opening on Tuesday.

Following several delays after beginning construction in June 2025, Raising Cane’s Westnedge Avenue location is officially opening on Tuesday at 10 a.m., following a ribbon cutting ceremony with a live DJ and giveaways, according to restaurant officials.

The first 100 purchase of one of their combos will receive a commemorative hat and a free box combo card and the first person in line is getting a gift basket. They’ll also be giving out free Cane’s for a year to 20 customers.

The official ribbon cutting is at 9:45 a.m., and some customers have been camped out since Monday night…
