Arrest made after multiple downtown Kalamazoo storefront windows smashed

KALAMAZOO, Mich. — One person was arrested in connection to multiple broken storefront windows in downtown Kalamazoo.

Just after 7 a.m., officers from the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety (KDPS) responded to a report of a broken storefront window

  • Crime: Man shot by officer as he resisted arrest died at hospital, gun found at the scene

After arriving, officers discovered damage at nearby businesses, and determined the incident was not isolated. Additional broken windows were found between Park Street and East Michigan Avenue.

Roughly seven businesses and nonprofit organizations were affected, with preliminary damage costs estimated at over $10,000, KDPS said in a release…
