Kalamazoo Nature Center to host 61st Maple Sugar Festival

COOPER TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — On March 7, visitors to the Kalamazoo Nature Center can attend the 61st annual Maple Sugar Festival and explore the nonprofit’s hands-on experiences.

“We have activities throughout the day, both indoor and outdoor,” said Lisa Panich, vice president of marketing and communications at the Kalamazoo Nature Center.

At the Maple Sugar Festival, activities include a pancake breakfast, magic shows, maple sugar-making demonstrations along a wooded trail and more.

“(Visitors) really like to learn about the process of maple sugaring,” Panich said.

As the longest-running event and fundraiser for the Kalamazoo Nature Center, the Maple Sugar Festival has become an annual tradition for West Michigan families interested in getting a jump-start on springtime…
