Mold discovered during homeless shelter conversion project at former hotel

KALAMAZOO COUNTY, MI — A discovery of mold has added to the cost of a project to convert a hotel into an emergency homeless shelter for families with children.

The Landing Place is slated to open within the next month at 1912 E. Kilgore Service Road. A former hotel, Country Inn & Suites, is being converted into an 80-unit homeless shelter.
