THREE RIVERS, Mich. — Cleanup efforts continue across Three Rivers five days after an EF-2 tornado tore through the city, damaging homes, businesses and churches and leaving residents with a long road to recovery.
Along East Michigan Avenue and in nearby neighborhoods, piles of debris now line the curbs where fallen trees, broken glass and scattered belongings once covered the streets. Volunteers and crews from across the region have been working around the clock to clear damage and help residents begin rebuilding.
City officials say the focus has now fully shifted from emergency response to recovery.
