Power company halts disconnections in Three Rivers after tornado damage

THREE RIVERS, MI — Indiana Michigan Power is temporarily halting service disconnections in Three Rivers following extensive damage from a tornado and severe weather that struck the area last Friday.

The utility company announced the suspension will remain in effect through March 31 as residents work to rebuild. The company plans to evaluate the situation on April 1 to determine future actions.

“Our hearts are with everyone impacted by the storm in the community,” said Katie Runkle, I&M’s vice president of external affairs and customer experience. “We were committed to restoring power safely and quickly and now we will stand with our customers and employees in that community to assist with power needs as they rebuild.”…
