MARSHALL, MI (WTVB) – The Michigan State Police Marshall Post is set to receive eight new troopers in July to address a critical staffing shortage that has recently left the post with no on-duty coverage during early morning hours.
Lt. Todd Price announced the “unprecedented” addition this week, saying that the post typically receives no more than five graduates at a time.
The influx of personnel is expected to restore 24-hour coverage for Branch, Calhoun, and St. Joseph counties, where current staffing of only 17 troopers has forced the post to rely on local sheriff’s departments and police for overnight assistance…
