HRI’s A Walk to End Homelessness raises thousands for housing resources in Kalamazoo

KALAMAZOO, Mich. — Housing Resources, Inc. (HRI) held A Walk to End Homelessness on Saturday in Kalamazoo.

The 5k took walkers from Homer Stryker Field along the Kalamazoo River Valley Trail through downtown Kalamazoo to HRI’s Rickman House, and eventually back to Homer Stryker Field.

The annual fundraiser has been going on for over 35 years, and raises awareness and resources for local programs helping people experiencing homelessness.

Holding the event is crucial, according to the organizer, due to the fact that affordable housing is both vital and hard to come by.
