Employees file $5M lawsuits against Stryker after global hack exposed their info

PORTAGE, MI — After a suspected Iran-linked hack, employees have filed $5 million lawsuits against their employer, worrying their private information could be sold on the dark web.

Stryker, with global headquarters in Portage, was targeted by Iranian hacker group Handala in a March 11 cyber attack that disrupted the company’s systems worldwide, one of the lawsuit filings alleges.

Four lawsuits were filed in the days following the hack in federal court by law firms on behalf of Stryker employees Dax Dodge, Scott Mangold, Tom Mesmer and Joseph Fredrickson…
