KALAMAZOO, Mich. — After West Michigan got an early start to winter weather last fall, the City of Kalamazoo announced its public works crews will begin collecting overwintered leaves next month.
Crews will start with the western side of the city, or Zone A, on April 6. Public works will then move to the central area of the city, or Zone B, before finishing up on the east side, Zone C, as time, weather, and workloads allow, officials said.
The city’s yard waste collection program — which accepts bagged or boxed leaves — will also begin service in April. Officials said after April 30, any remaining leaves must be set out according to yard waste program guidelines in bags, boxes, or bundles for regular collection…
