Construction on Runway 17-35 at the Kalamazoo Battle Creek International Airport will start on April 27, 2026. The project will extend the runway by 450 feet and include new pavement, lighting relocation, grading, drainage, and safety upgrades.
A 7-day full runway closure is planned later in the project to complete critical work. During that week, commercial flights will be temporarily suspended, but Runways 5-23 and 9-27 will stay open for other operations.
