Suspect vehicle found, victim ID’d in deadly Kalamazoo hit-and-run

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) — The victim of a deadly hit-and-run in Kalamazoo last week has been identified by police.

Mark Allen McBride, 51, was hit by a vehicle and killed Wednesday night on S Westnedge Avenue near Axtell Street in Kalamazoo, according to the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety. Responding officers found him in the road with what they described as “catastrophic injuries.” He died at the scene.

McBride’s family released a statement Tuesday, saying he was a son, brother, father, grandfather and friend. His absence leaves an “immeasurable void,” they wrote.
