ALMENA TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A man is facing charges after deputies say he filed multiple liens against a property he tried to buy west of Kalamazoo.
George Parnell, 40, of Richland, is facing a charge of fraudulent conveyances and encumbering without lawful cause, according to the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office.
It began when Parnell requested to be shown a property on M-43 near N Van Kal Street in Almena Township, which a relator had been listed online. Deputies say Parnell made an offer on the property and home and made an agreement. But he did not honor the terms of the buy/sell agreement, according to the sheriff’s office.
