KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) — A federal grant worth $1,250,000 to cover part of the costs for 10 new officers has been pulled from the Kalamazoo City Commission meeting agenda for a second time.
It comes days before the acceptance deadline.
The 2025 Community Oriented Policing Services, or COPS, award would cover 75% of the entry-level salary and benefits for the new officers, according to meeting documents.
