Gunman accused of killing woman and dog takes plea for 25 years in Kalamazoo County case

KALAMAZOO COUNTY, MI — A man from southeastern Kalamazoo County will spend 25 years in prison for the 2024 murder of Nichole Marie Doerschler and her dog.

Adam Gerard Lyons, 32, of Climax, pleaded no contest earlier this month to charges of second-degree murder, felony firearm and torturing/killing an animal, according to court records.
