Tornado victims face June deadline to apply for low interest SBA disaster relief loans

UNION CITY, MI (WTVB) – Michigan residents and business owners affected by the deadly March 6, 2026, tornado outbreak have until June 29, 2026, to apply for low-interest physical damage disaster loans through the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA).

Following an administrative disaster declaration by Governor Gretchen Whitmer, these federal loans are available to help repair or replace disaster-damaged real estate, machinery, and personal property in primary counties like Branch, Cass, and St. Joseph, as well as several neighboring counties.

Homeowners may qualify for up to $500,000 for primary residence repairs, while businesses and private nonprofits can apply for up to $2 million to cover physical losses…
