KALAMAZOO, MI — Metro will implement changes to four fixed-route bus lines starting July 20, 2026, in an effort to improve safety, expand access to growing areas and better serve riders across Kalamazoo County.
The adjustments will affect Routes 1, 5, 6 and 15, with changes ranging from eliminating a problematic left turn to expanding service along key corridors.
Route 1 – The Westnedge route will no longer turn into Meijer from southbound Westnedge to eliminate an unprotected left turn. Riders traveling along Westnedge can use stops at Andy Ave. in front of Grand Traverse Pie Company or Kilgore Road in front of Hibachi Grill.
