A new church will be opening west of Battle Creek on Sunday, May 24, at 10 a.m.
Chapter 29 Church, located at 15 Lamora Ave. north of Springfield and off of Michigan Avenue, will be led by Pastor Casey Cadieux and his wife Christina.
“My wife and I heard and received the call into ministry nearly five years ago,” said Cadieux. “We didn’t know what that looked like, but said, ‘Here I am, send me.’ We didn’t have any experience running a church, but only had experience attending church. We began looking for buildings way back then only to have doors and windows closed. It was convenient timing, but we got a new neighbor about that same time that just so happened to be a retired pastor from New York. We would have a lot of fence talk, and he suggested that we begin having meetings at our home. I thought he was crazy, but about six months later, we began having Bible study gatherings on Friday evenings at our home.”…
